New Climate Change Resources
The Climate Change Secretariat is excited to announce the release of two new educational resources focused on climate change and sustainable energy awareness and action. These resources were developed with support from Natural Resources Canada’s Wah-ila-toos funding program, which supports renewable energy, energy efficiency, and capacity-building initiatives in Indigenous, rural, and remote communities across Canada.
Nunavut's Sustainable Energy Support Policy: A Steps Towards Nunavut’s Sustainable Energy Transition
The Government of Nunavut has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to support sustainable energy projects in Nunavut with the approval of their new Sustainable Energy Support Policy (SESP). This policy modernizes and replaces the former Renewable Energy Support Policy (RESP), providing a comprehensive framework that supports the Government of Nunavut's goal of reducing the territory’s reliance on fossil fuel while also enhancing Nunavut’s energy security, economic development, and climate resiliency.
