On July 7, 2025, the Knowledge Mobilization Team at the Nunavut Climate Change Secretariat (CCS) launched its second year of outreach with the City of Iqaluit’s Summer Day Camp program. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, CCS staff lead engaging, hands-on activities that help children explore climate change in fun, age-appropriate ways. Through nature scavenger hunts, recycling challenges, and interactive discussions, children are beginning to connect the dots between their daily actions and the broader changes happening across the Arctic and in their own community.

This partnership helps spark early conversations about climate change and resilience, empowering children and youth to ask thoughtful questions and develop a deeper understanding of the issues shaping their future. Campers are learning key climate terms, identifying vulnerable areas in the Arctic, and thinking critically about how they can help care for the land. By giving children space to learn and reflect, CCS is helping to build a generation of informed, and curious northern climate champions.
